Send SMS text messages from any email program (Hotmail, Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, etc) or any application with email functionality (monitoring tools, etc).
Simply compose an email from your registered email address and send it to: mobile_number@email2sms.onesixty.co.uk. It will then be forwarded on as a text message to the mobile_number you specified.
For example, an email sent to: 07712345678@email2sms.onesixty.co.uk, will be sent to the mobile number 07712345678.

Email to SMS works with UK landlines too - emails will be delivered as a voice message. It also works with overseas numbers - just remember to include the country code.
For example, an email sent to: 491762345678@email2sms.onesixty.co.uk, where 49 is the country code, will be sent to the O2 mobile number 01762345678 in Germany.
Things you need to know
You can add as many recipients as you like in the "To" and "Cc" fields provided you have sufficient credits available. You must also include the Sender ID in the "Subject" field followed by two dollar symbols $$ and then your OneSixty password.
Why the two dollar symbols? We use the dollar symbols to determine the end of the Sender ID and the start of your password. You must also finish your message with two dollar symbols to ensure that any signatures or company disclaimers do not get sent out as part of the text message.
The following is a valid subject line: MyCompany$$MyPassword123, and the following is a valid message: Hello, you have an appointment with J.Smith at 11am on Sunday 20th May 2012.$$.
Passwords
We recognise that you may not want to put your OneSixty password in the Subject field, so we'll allow you to create another password especially for Email to SMS (perhaps something a bit easier to remember). Never trust a provider that doesn't require some kind of authentication when sending text messages via email. Anyone can spoof an email address which means they can use your credits!
